Link cleanup

How to remove tracking parameters from copied links

Many copied links include campaign tags, social click IDs, ad identifiers, and email tracking fields. They can make a URL long and reveal where it was copied from. Removing obvious tracking parameters makes links easier to read and share.

Clean links in your browser

LinkClean Shelf removes common tracking parameters while keeping destination parameters that may be needed for the page to work.

Checklist

  1. Paste the URL into a link cleaner.
  2. Remove common fields such as utm_source, utm_medium, fbclid, gclid, and msclkid.
  3. Keep meaningful parameters such as product IDs, search terms, page numbers, or language settings.
  4. Open the cleaned link in a new tab to confirm it still reaches the right page.
  5. Use the cleaned version in emails, documents, chats, and public posts.

Do not over-clean

Some query parameters are required. If removing a parameter changes the product, search result, checkout, or document view, keep it.

FAQ

Does this make browsing anonymous? No. It only removes link clutter. Websites and networks may still receive normal request data.

Can I remove all parameters after a question mark? Sometimes, but that can break useful destination behavior. Prefer targeted cleanup.
